Story Behind the Art:

Mexican artisan Javier Servin began his ceramic experience in Mexico City. 'Then I decided to start my own workshop at my parents' house,' he recalls. 'It was just my wife and I. In 1996, I returned to my village and have been able to offer jobs to more than 30 master ceramists in my community. After shaping the piece by hand, we trace the patterns with a burin for the decorative motifs, which we apply with glaze before firing. Our collections range from home decor to exhibition pieces.'
